Clearance of land mines from Arava under way despite greens’ concerns
Some 40,000 land mines will be cleared, while IDF patrol road will be moved closer to Jordanian border.
Work began this week on clearing tens of thousands of land mines from the northern Arava desert. Contractors have undertaken to remove these safety hazards, which limit the development of communities and agriculture in the area, while safeguarding protected natural areas.
